I made the trek to and from campus today, and I don’t mind telling you, it was cold. I wished for a balaclava at one point, but thought better of it when I realized the odds of my lips freezing to the fabric were high. Also, the last thing our hyper-aware (see how I didn’t say paranoid?) neighbors need to see is some unrecognizable figure clomping through the neighborhood wearing a ski mask.
The upside of this weather is that super-cold temperatures and falling water levels make for interesting ice formations on the edge of the river.

And ice globules! I would’ve gotten more close-up pictures, but there was no George Bailey around to prevent the world from going to hell in a tragic chain-reaction if I drowned in the river. So I perched safely near the sidewalk and gave the zoom a workout.

As cold as I was, at least I wasn’t wearing a skirt of ice.
